Bill King Detachment #019 serves Marines, veterans, families, and the greater Modesto community through advocacy, outreach, charitable service, remembrance, and the traditions of the Corps.
Our detachment exists to continue serving. Sometimes that means helping a veteran find the right resource. Sometimes it means standing beside a family facing hardship, supporting a community program, honoring a fallen Marine, or advocating for those whose service should never be forgotten.
We work alongside veteran organizations, civic groups, community partners, and local leaders to connect people with help, strengthen our community, and preserve the values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.
These three commitments shape how Detachment #019 serves today.
Helping Marines, veterans, and families connect with resources, support networks, healthcare information, and organizations equipped to assist them.
Supporting Toys for Tots, local charities, civic partners, families facing hardship, and other community efforts where our members can make a difference.
Preserving fellowship, patriotism, memorial observances, ceremonial honors, and the legacy and traditions of the United States Marine Corps.
Veterans can face difficult circumstances long after active service ends. Our role is to stand beside them, help identify available resources, and connect them with organizations and professionals that can provide the assistance they need.
Marine Corps values do not stop at the doors of the Veterans Center. Our members support local families, youth, charitable causes, and civic partners throughout the Modesto area.
Supporting the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots mission by helping collect and distribute toys and bringing holiday support to children and families in need.
Partnering with local charities, civic organizations, and community programs where Marine Corps League members can lend time, experience, and hands-on support.
Helping connect veterans and local families facing hardship with community resources, support programs, and organizations prepared to assist.
Detachment members participate in honor guards, funeral honors, memorial services, patriotic ceremonies, and community commemorations. These moments are more than tradition—they are a promise that Marines, veterans, and their families will be treated with dignity and that service to our nation will not be forgotten.
We also support events and observances that preserve Marine Corps heritage, strengthen patriotism, and pass the meaning of service to future generations.
